"Cherish forever what makes you unique, because you're really just a yawn if it goes." - Bette Midler
Pretty much -- I'm just a girl. I feel grown up at times...a little too grown up...and at other times I feel so childish and foolish it's not even funny. I love people too easily which I can't decide if that is a good thing or a bad thing. I like rainbows...I like sunsets...I'm sure I would like the sunrise if it wasn't so damn early. I love to be held - nothing better than cuddling with someone you love. I feel like my life is stretched between work life and the life I feel my persona fits. I want to be unique, but find that I am just like everyone else. I'm very smart and way cool. Seriously.
More? Ok. Well, I love music and I am not one of those types who sticks to one genre. In the same day you can find me listening to angry goth/techno-esque music and then later on hear some music from my favorite musicals. It's very --well, bipolar of me. I know this. Sorry. You'll like me anyways :P
15 interesting facts about myself:
1. I grew up in a town of around 200 people in Kansas.
2. One of my many favorite movies is Almost Famous (see one of the many favorite scenes from this movie below)
3. I went to Peru for a month back in 2007 - one of my favorite life experiences ever and I definitely want to do something like that again.
4. I used to have a tongue ring and I really miss it. I took it out for interviews my senior year at college and it closed up too fast for me to put it back in :(
5. I once had 17 stitches from a food fight at church.
6. I love needles but I don't have any tattoos as I am afraid I would regret whatever I got. So instead I give blood regularly.
7. My favorite musical of all time is Rent and I got to see it when they were doing their tour out here in Phoenix and it was AMAZING. Wish I could have seen the original cast on Broadway - that would have been amazing as well.
8. If I love someone - I like telling them any chance I can get and I genuinely mean it every time. I know people worry that "love" is a word that gets tossed around - but if I tell you that I love you...it means that I do.
9. On my 21st birthday after being out at the bars, my friends decided it was a good idea to take me to an adult bookstore since I had never been in one. I had to buy something since it was my first time so I bought a dirty magazine. When we went to the next bar I realized I had forgotten my license at the adult bookstore and I had to walk in where they all announced "Hey...it's the birthday girl" and then all the gross weird people in the store turned and clapped for me.
10. I have a goal to get completely out of debt (aka...Dave Ramsey's Plan) but I think it is going to take me a couple of years. I should be paying off my car by August of this year though! woo hoo
11. One day I would love to own a coffee shop - but I don't know if I'd be a very good business owner.
12. I wish gas prices were still low because one of my favorite things is to just get in the car and drive around. I get so much "think time" in and it is interesting the places you find yourself.
13. I am a camp director one week out of the summer for a church camp 7th - 12th grade -- when did I get so brave? Those kids are NUTS!
14. I don't think there is any better sport to watch than men's beach volleyball. yummy.
15. My favorite pizza topping is mushrooms....I LOVE MUSHROOMS!

I'm jumping on board...30 straight days of randomocity - you'll love it. Seriously.
So I have randomly seen these "30 Day Blog Challenges" around and thought to myself "hmm...I could do that" but then of course I never have. Now I think I want to. However, I can't find one that I like...so I'm going to combine two of them and see what I get. I hope nothing too boring.
My ultimate goal: To allow my readers to get to know me on a more personal basis.

If you have interesting/crazy questions you want to know about me that aren't on the 30 day list - but you think of them...please let me know and I will answer them in a blog to you as well. FULL DISCLOSURE OF THE TRUTH. I don't want to hide anything from you...that would be crazy ;)

Pet Peeve Tuesday
Today's pet peeve may relate to some of you more than others. (I believe more women will "feel me" than men anyway.)
I absolutely HATE cold toilet seats. It's been one of my pet peeves for a while now. When will they come out with toilet seats that never get cold. I have literally held it in because I knew the toilet seat was cold.
So that's that.
What is your pet peeve this week?

Sorry...sheesh
I just want to apologize. I have been spending every single hour that I can on studying for the CPA exam that I took this afternoon. I'm not sure it helped...I don't feel like I passed but we shall see. Anyway, now that we have that one out of the way - I have to start studying for another one I take at the end of February. Lovely. *sigh*
Anyway, I just saw that my friend from college is in roller derby. I am kind of jealous. I want to get into shape and aspire to be in roller derby. It looks awfully bad ass...and I want to be bad ass.
That's all for now.

Confession Wednesday
When I used to blog a lot on xanga, my favorite day of the week was Wednesday because it had become "Confession Wednesday". Back in college, I had a lot of great confessions. Now that I am "old" they aren't as great. However, I still find it lovely to confess things to complete internet-world strangers so I believe I will :)
Confession for today: Sometimes I internet stalk people from my past to see if they will show up. I have a few friends from when I was little. I remember it was around 4th grade - they lived across the street from me. I can't seem to find them online for the life of me. Who doesn't have a facebook people?!?

Pet Peeve Tuesday
I don't know if I will do "Pet Peeve Tuesday" every Tuesday...but I wanted to at least have one for the year so here it goes.
Today my pet peeve is people who speed up toward a red light.
I HATE when I am driving along and begin to slow down for a light and all of the sudden the person behind me whips around and passes me like a bat out of hell and then has to slam on their breaks when they reach the light. What has this accomplished? I'll tell you what - it has accomplished me thinking you are an idiot.
That's all folks :-)

The Sound of Sunshine
So many of you saw my "list" of things I want for the new year. One was a theme song to dance to at least weekly. I have decided that I want to change it monthly. This is mostly due to my music A.D.D. It seems like I can never stay in love with one song for longer than a month. I will still always like the song - but it isn't my "favorite" - you know what I mean...everyone over-listens to a song and it then becomes time to just move on.
For January 2011: The Sound of Sunshine by Michael Franti. I can't sit still when listening to this song. If I am in the office I do a slight head-bob so anyone who happens to walk by my office doesn't peg me as a freak. If I am in my car I let it most of the way out - I don't know the folks driving by me so who cares if they think I'm a crazy person right? If I'm at home - it's ON! I dance around crazy in all of the rooms and Jasper gets into it as well and starts going crazy.
How did I choose this song you might ask yourself. Well, it's been on my radar for a while now. It came almost tied with another Michael Franti song - "Say Hey (I love you)". I dance around crazy to that song as well. I first heard it on Weeds which I had been catching up on last year. Even when it came on the tv it made me dance around. Then when I started listening to Michael Franti - it was obvious there were a few dancing songs in my future!
If you were to choose a dancing song for the month of January - what would YOUR song be?
