Shakespeare

Here is the newest addition to my little family.  I have decided to become a foster parent now that Jasper is close to the 2 year mark (his birthday is in May).

Poor little guy came to me on Thursday night and then got sick Friday morning! He hasn't eaten since and has been vomitting and other nastiness so I've been working to keep him hydrated. He is spending today at the vet getting IV fluids. Hope he isn't too scared!

I'm sure you all will here more of my fostering adventures :) jasper is doing well...seems to be a natural big brother...even to a sick puppy :)

Day 04 - A picture of someone special to you.

I could write a whole blog about this someone special. I have actually already spoke about him many times so bear with me, but today's "day" called for it and he's one of the most special someone's in my life currently.

I got Jasper less than a month after my apartment was robbed at gun point.  I was not home when this happened thankfully.  The robbers didn't get away with much - 2 laptops, my roommates wallet, cell phone and keys to the apartment.  (Side note - they WERE caught and we got the laptops back...but a jury trial at which they lied out of their asses got them off the hook and back out onto the streets...grr). Anyway, I don't think it was immediate - but after about one week from the incident I decided I needed a dog. I wanted a puggle. I'm not sure it was necessarily because of the incident, however, I think the incident is what finally pushed me over the edge.  I was studying for the CPA exam at the time (still am...ugh) and got the baby at the absolute WORST time to get him.  One week before my exam I drove an hour and a half south and met him. Love at first sight.  He was so small - he fit in the palm of my hand. His whimper was so adorable and he was scared but he cuddled into my lap and seemed to feel better. I'm telling you - CUTEST THING EVER. I love him to this day, but those first few months where he was still small puppy were my favorite (minus the potty training).

So I present to you my best friend - the one guy who can take any crappy day and make me at least crack a small, quick smile. Jasper:

This is baby Jasper...

Rain in Phoenix...

Jasper wasn't sure what to think about the rain we had this past weekend! I know I disliked it :-( I can't wait for our "normal" winter to just stay!
Today = 70s.....more rain coming Saturday and Sunday. Boo!

Oh Jasper :-)

Day 22: Talk about the cuteness of your pet
I have come to figure out that there is one thing that is guaranteed each day. I will smile at least once.  That was not always the case.  Before I had Jasper, I'm sure there were days when the smile just wouldn't be seen on my face.  Jasper makes me smile - just because he is cute. No one - human or animal - has ever been able to do that for me until him!

I got Jasper a few weeks after my apartment was robbed at gunpoint.  Yes. I KNOW that a puggle about 8 weeks old was not going to protect me, but it still made me feel better to have something else that was living in my apartment.

Here is a video Sherwey took of Jasper on the first day we had him.  I wish we had taken more videos.  At least now I know that when I have a kid I have to be non-stop taking photos and video so I can look back on our early times! :-) (Take note Ryan - pictures and videos...nonstop when the little one gets here!)
Gosh, I love my little man.  This is a picture of him on the way home after I picked him up!

He does some of the strangest things that equate to him being EVEN cuter :) I have posted this before - but I'm going to post it again. Here is a video of a game he likes to play - I call it "Hungry Hungry Hippo":

He makes me a proud mama too because he is so smart! Here he is after graduating puppy training class.

So - to sum it all up. Jasper is my best friend and he takes good care of his mama. He never fails to make me feel loved when I wake up in the morning and when I come home from work. Even when I just have to study and he has to entertain himself.  :-)

I told Jasp that I was writing about him in my blog - so he wanted to say "HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY" to all of my blog friends, since he probably won't be getting on to say it later on in the month!

Pictures of things that make me happy :)

Today is Day 5 of the 30 straight days of randomocity and it is a fun day! I get to post pictures of things that make me happy! ENJOY :)

Now - this list is obviously not representative of EVERYTHING that makes me happy...but it is a good start.

Men's Beach Volleyball - enough said.

Getting a fresh pedicure.

Eating a double double and fries from In N Out (I don't always feel happy afterwards - but definitely DURING!)

Seeing Brad Paisley live in concert - or just hearing him in general...usually equals happy me.

Jasper as a baby - I miss those days...he was soooo small!
Adult Jasper - I love him soooo much because there isn't a day that goes by where he doesn't make me smile!

Oh yes...Yuengling. Why I can't get it in Arizona I don't know - but it is very upsetting.
My first TRUE love :-)

The Sound of Sunshine

So many of you saw my "list" of things I want for the new year.  One was a theme song to dance to at least weekly.  I have decided that I want to change it monthly.  This is mostly due to my music A.D.D. It seems like I can never stay in love with one song for longer than a month. I will still always like the song - but it isn't my "favorite" - you know what I mean...everyone over-listens to a song and it then becomes time to just move on.

For January 2011:  The Sound of Sunshine by Michael Franti.  I can't sit still when listening to this song. If I am in the office I do a slight head-bob so anyone who happens to walk by my office doesn't peg me as a freak.  If I am in my car I let it most of the way out - I don't know the folks driving by me so who cares if they think I'm a crazy person right?  If I'm at home - it's ON! I dance around crazy in all of the rooms and Jasper gets into it as well and starts going crazy.

How did I choose this song you might ask yourself. Well, it's been on my radar for a while now.  It came almost tied with another Michael Franti song - "Say Hey (I love you)". I dance around crazy to that song as well.  I first heard it on Weeds which I had been catching up on last year. Even when it came on the tv it made me dance around.  Then when I started listening to Michael Franti - it was obvious there were a few dancing songs in my future!

If you were to choose a dancing song for the month of January - what would YOUR song be?

Jasper is awesome.

As most of you know, I have a dog. I didn't think I was a dog person...but Jasper is changing all of that. He is the best dog in the world.

One of the things he enjoys doing is hiding out under beds - and every now and then if he is in a playful mood he plays what I like to call "Hungry Hungry Hippo". Here's a video of us playing :) ENJOY!

Now, I realize some of you may not have the slightest idea what Hungry Hungry Hippos is...so i thought I would help you out. Here's the commercial from the 80's game:

Introducing Jasper

I couldn't have picked a cuter puppy. I couldn't have picked a worse time!

So I get my puggle at 8 weeks...have to do the training thing for the first time in my LIFE (our dogs as a kid were always outdoor dogs and we never trained them or did anything by the books with them for that matter!).

I love him...I hate him...it varies depending on the exact minute it is in the day. Luckily I have an amazing boyfriend who knows I need to study for my CPA exam and need to get sleep on certain nights in order to function at work....and I love him for that. He has Jasper tonight actually. This helps SO much.

Anyway - are you prepared to fall in love with the cutest pup in the world? Well here goes:
